How to compress MKV files:

  1. Settings

Set MKV video quality first. MKV video quality value can be 1 (lowest video quality and highest compression) to 100 (best quality but least effective compression). You can also select "Change specific video parameters" option to set video size, bitrate, frame rate, aspect, etc. All audio tracks in video file can be removed, this will significantly reduce file size.

  2. Add Files

Drag multiple MKV files into the "Choose Files" section. Each MKV file size can be up to 200 MB.

  3. Compress Files

Batch compression will automatically start once the files are uploaded. Please be patient while files are uploading or compressing.

  4. Output Files

The output files will be listed in the "Output Files" section. To compress all output files into a ZIP file, click the "" icon on the right, then click "Add to ZIP". You can right-click on file name and click "Save link as..." to save the file. Note that output files will be automatically deleted from our server in two hours, so please download them to your computer or save them to online storage services such as Google Drive or Dropbox as soon as possible.

About:

The Matroska Multimedia Container is a free, open-standard container format, a file format that can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture, or subtitle tracks in one file. It is a universal format for storing common multimedia content, like movies or TV shows. Matroska is similar in concept to other containers like AVI, MP4, or Advanced Systems Format (ASF), but is entirely open in specification, with implementations consisting mostly of open source software.

The exclusive "Overall Video Quality" option on our website is inspired by the "JPEG Quality" option in image compression. It's more intuitive than setting all kinds of video parameters such as video size, bitrate, frame rate or aspect.
